Terms & Conditions

Dog Boarding

We are fully licensed with Birmingham City Council to ensure that we meet all relevant standards and legislation.  We also hold public liability insurance with Petplan Sanctuary.

All pets will be cared for as if they are a member of our own family.  We will ensure that pets are exercised as often as required and have the opportunity to play for a fun stay.

All dogs will be kept indoors overnight in a warm, safe and secure environment.

Accepted Dogs

We reserve the right to refuse any dogs that show signs of aggression.  Having pets of our own, it's important that they feel safe within their home.  All sociable dogs are welcome to mix and play together. However, should you have a dog that is shy or anxious or prefers their own space and quiet time, we are able to keep dogs separate and still within the home.  All dogs will still receive the same amount of care they deserve.

If you have a dog that may be a little destructive and are concerned about boarding them, please don't worry.  Depending on the level of destruction, we are happy to consider them.  All we ask is that you're completely honest with us prior to booking.  We're more than happy to help with behavior issues if you wish.

Dogs on the banned breeds list, will not be accepted for boarding.

These are:

  • Pit Bull Terrier
  • Japanese Tosa
  • Dogo Argentino
  • Fila Brasileiro

Payment Options

We accept cash, cheques (14 days prior to stay to allow clearance), bank transfer or PayPal.

A 25% Non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking.  All remaining fees must be paid in full at the start of your pets stay.

Any delays in collecting your pet will be charged at the daily rate and fees will need to be transferred.

Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit has been paid/cleared.

Fees are charged at per day (not per night).

You are welcome to collect your pet early.  However, your booking will still be charged in full and no refunds will be given.

Owners

As the pet owner, you are welcome to supply bedding, blankets, a towel, toys, collar, lead, bowls and enough food for the duration of your pets stay if you wish.  However, we can supply anything that you're unable to transport if you're dropping your pet via public transport, excluding food, which would be an additional charge.

PLEASE NOTE* Outdoor hutches are provided for rabbits/Guinea pigs.  However a charge of £2.50 per week will be required for bedding if you're unable to provide this.

We will provide treats for pets.  Please provide specialist treats if your pet has specific allergies.

Medication can be administered , provided a permission form has been filled in.

Times will be required for both drop off and collection of your pet.  This is to ensure that we are available and can have all belongings packed up.  If you arrive outside of time specified, we can't guarantee to be home due to dog walks and exercise.

If a dog/pet becomes unwell or injured

Should your pet become unwell or injured during their stay, we will seek Veterinary advice and if necessary, will take them to your Vet named on the booking form, providing it's within a reasonable distance.  Should this not be possible or we feel it's an emergency, we will take your pet to our own local Veterinary Practice.

We will contact you via phone or text to inform you of this.  You will be required to provide your pet insurance details.  If you are uninsured, then you will be required to sign a disclaimer that will remove us as being responsible for financial liability of Vets bills.  Owners will be required to pay any costs incurred.

Although extremely rare occurrences and we hope these situations never arise, we do have a duty to inform you of the following:

Failure to collect your pet.

If your pet isn't collected as arranged, we will try and contact you or anyone named on the booking form using the information provided.  Should your pet still be with us 7 days after the collection date specified without any communication from yourselves, arrangements will be made to have them re-homed.  Our local Senior Animal Health & Welfare Officer will be notified.

Deceased pets.

In some cases, senior pets are boarded.  Unfortunately, unexpected death can in very rare cases occur.  We will endeavor to contact you and follow any wishes you'd like us to carry out.  Any deceased pets will be taken to our local Vets and held awaiting further instructions from the owner.  Being pet owners ourselves, we know how upsetting losing a pet can be and that we often wish to have them home again with us in the form of cremation.  You will be given the opportunity to do this via the Veterinary practice.  All costs will be the responsibility of the owners.

Again, our local Senior Animal Health & Welfare Officer will be notified.

Our Licence and Insurance Requirements

As a requirement of our dog boarding licence, dogs will be walked on a lead at all times and not be let off, other than in our secure garden.  Dogs will wear a temporary identity tag with our details on for their entire stay with us.

We will keep a register of all dogs staying with us, including arrival and departure dates and times.  You will be required to fill in a booking form including dogs name, breed, age, owners details and microchip number.  These details will be made available to Birmingham City Council if requested.

The owner will need to provide proof of up to date vaccinations and we will be required to keep a copy for our own records.

We prefer all dogs microchipped in accordance with 'Compulsory Microchipping Laws' dated 6th April 2016.

Small animal boarding

We provide a home boarding service for small caged animals.  We provide secure outdoor hutches and runs for those that usually live outside.  We also provide indoor care with owners providing their own cages.

Please make sure pets arrive in a suitable pet carrier.

Owners are required to supply equipment, bedding*, food etc.

*Bedding can be provided at an extra cost of £2.50 per 7 days.

Rabbits must be vaccinated against Myxomatosis and RVHD.

Fees are charged at per day (not per night).
